7/5（火）の昼休み、Virtual English Lounge（VEL）にて英語教育開発センター（EEDC）が主催する“Intern Farewell Event”を実施。
イベントには約30名の学生が参加し、オンラインでインターンや英語教員との交流を楽しみました。

Virtual English Lounge（以下VEL）は、2020年度から在学生向けにスタートした、楽しみながら英語に触れることができるオンライン交流の場。

7/5（火）のVELは、この春学期で任期を終え、東洋学園大学を去るインターンのAllysonとMaslinとのラストイベントとなりました。

まずは、Allysonが自分の好きな食べ物や動物、演奏できる楽器等をクイズで出題する“Allyson Quiz”を実施。
これまでAllysonとたくさん交流をしてきた学生たちは、それぞれの質問にすぐ回答していました。

次は、Maslinと学生たちの交流タイム。
こちらもクイズ形式で行われ、Maslinがどこで育ったか、やったことのある日本のゲームや一番好きなアニメは何か、日本に住んで何年目かなどを出題しました。
学生たちは回答をチャットから送り、大変盛り上がりました。

その後、AllysonとMaslinの日本での思い出の写真を紹介。
2人が印象に残っている体験や、もう一度行きたい場所などを語りました。

学生からの「日本にいた期間で一番良かったと思う経験は？」という質問に対して、Maslinは「異文化に触れて学んだことはとてもいい思い出になったし、将来やりたいと思うことにつながる経験を得ることができた」とコメント。
Allysonは「素敵な人にたくさん出会って、おいしいものを食べて、そしてMaslinと働けたことがよかった」とコメントしました。

春学期が終わるまで残り数週間。
2人に会いにEnglish Loungeへ行ってみてはいかがでしょうか。

Allysonからのメッセージ：
I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone at Toyo Gakuen University. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity and for making me feel so welcome. I made so many fantastic memories that I will never forget. To students, I would like to say that your hard work, dedication, and open-mindedness is very inspiring. I encourage you to never stop learning and go forward with the courage to try new things.  I wish you the best of luck in your studies and your bright futures. ありがとうございました！

Hello everyone – this is Maslin! I`ve been in TOGAKU for almost 3 years…time sure flies when you`re having fun! We have so many wonderful memories together, but my favourite has got to be all the interesting conversations we`ve had over the years! I have gotten to know you all so well that it is very hard to say goodbye so, I will say “thank you” instead! I hope you all stay curious and continue using English in the future – more people need to know how lovely you all are! Whenever you are having a hard time, this is my best advice: choose what will bring you the most joy!!
