1/18（月）～11/21(木)、坂本ひとみ講師がギリシャで開かれたエラスムス・プラスに参加。

坂本講師からのレポートを紹介します。

”Let’s plant ecology into our society”というプロジェクトで、ギリシャ、ポーランド、ポルトガル、トルコの先生たちと12~14歳の生徒たちとクリエイティブな学びの活動をしてきました。
このプログラムで使われる共通言語は英語であり、学びの活動もすべて英語で行われます。アテネの北、車で4時間のところにある海辺の町ボロスの中学校が会場となり、生徒たちが各国の植物やハーブについての発表、国境を超えたグループを作って環境破壊をテーマにしたポスターを作成、近くの美しい村で自然環境教育ツアーに参加、学校の庭園にみなでハーブを植えたり、ギリシャ特有のハーブを使って石鹸や軟膏を作るなどの体験的な学びをしました。

坂本講師は、 参加している教員にアンケートをとり、エラスムスに参加する意義、このプロジェクトで学んだ子どもがどのように成長したか、教師にとってはどのような学びがあったかなどについて質問をし、その結果をまとめて先生たちに共有しています。また、広島についての文学を学んでいる中学2年生クラスに招かれて、原爆についての講義をしました。

坂本講師は、これまでもエラスムス・プログラムに参加して、ハンガリー、ポーランド、ポルトガル、トルコを訪問して日本文化紹介に努めてきましたが、今後はこの教育プログラムについて学会発表をしたり、論文を書くことを予定しています。

Hitomi Sakamoto Participates in the EU’s International Collaboration Program for Children, “Erasmus+”
From November 18 (Monday) to November 21 (Thursday), Hitomi Sakamoto participated in the Erasmus+ transnational meeting, held in Greece. The project, titled “Let’s Plant Ecology into Our Society,” involved teachers and students aged 12 to 14 from Greece, Poland, Portugal, and Turkey, engaging in creative learning activities. The program’s common language was English, and all activities were conducted in English.
The event took place at the 6th Junior High School of Volos. Volos is a coastal town located four hours north of Athens by car.
Activities included:
•Students giving presentations on plants and herbs from their respective countries.
•Creating cross-border groups to design posters on the theme of environmental destruction.
•Participating in an environmental education tour in a nearby picturesque village.
•Collaborative gardening activities, such as planting herbs in the school garden.
•Making soaps and ointments using unique Greek herbs.

Sakamoto surveyed participating teachers about the significance of Erasmus+, how children grew through the project, and the insights gained by educators. She compiled and shared these findings with the teachers. Additionally, she was invited to speak to a class of 8th graders studying literature about Hiroshima, where she gave a lecture on the atomic bombs.
Sakamoto has previously participated in Erasmus+ programs, visiting Hungary, Poland, Portugal, and Turkey to promote Japanese culture. Moving forward, she plans to present her findings on this educational program at academic conferences and publish research papers.
